“Oilers are self explanatory,” he said of the last Canadian hockey team in this year’s playoffs.
If the Oilers win, Drake's bet is expected to pay out more than $1 million; if the Mavericks and Oilers both win titles, he will profit by almost $2.4 million.
The five-time Grammy winner is accustomed to sharing images of his high-stakes wagers on Instagram, but recently, his results have been inconsistent.
He wagered $700,000 that Sean Strickland would defeat Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297 in Toronto, however he lost the wager in January.
After betting on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl in this quick February, he won about $1.2 million a month later.
The Oilers and Panthers will face off in a best-of-seven series that starts in Florida on Saturday in the race for the Stanley Cup.
