Hartman of Wild offered in-person hearing with NHL Player Safety after Intent to injury
Â
The NHL Department of Player Safety has offered Ryan Hartman a face-to-face hearing.
The player for the Minnesota Wild is being disciplined for roughing up Tim Stutzle of the Ottawa Senators.
The hearing's date and hour will be decided.
The offending player is given the chance to appear in person for a hearing if the infraction could result in a suspension of six games or more. In this instance, the player is suspended pending the hearing. The hearing will take place over the phone if the athlete forfeits his right to an in-person hearing.
The incident happened during Saturday's 6-0 victory for Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa around 20:00 in the second period. Hartman was given a penalty for the contest.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: roughing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
The NHL considers Hartman a repeat offender. In November 2023, he was given a two-game suspension for tripping Alex DeBrincat of Detroit. After losing to Vegas in OT in April 2024, he threw his stick at a referee, earning him a three-game suspension. Additionally, he received a misconduct penalty for using "abusive language" during that game.
