Craig Berube has added Lane Lambert to his coaching staff.
The 59-year-old Lambert was named an associate coach by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
The departure of assistant coach Dean Chenowyth from the team was also confirmed by the team.
Lambert, a Melfort, Saskatchewan native, most recently led the New York Islanders for two seasons, finishing with a record of 61-46-20. Before being let go in January of this year, he guided the team to the postseason in 2023.
Lambert worked as an assistant for the Nashville Predators and the Washington Capitals, with whom he won the 2018 Stanley Cup, before joining the Isles.
A forward in his playing days, Lambert appeared in 283 NHL games over six seasons from 1983 to 1989 with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques
Berube was recruited by the Leafs in late May to replace Sheldon Keefe.
