During Monday's practice, the Colorado Avalanche received some positive news.
Gabriel Landeskog, the captain, participated in several drills and even remained outside during the team skate.

"He's making strides. Obviously, this rehab is not linear. There's lots of peaks and valleys in it, and sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back, but he's still making progress and obviously feeling comfortable enough to come out and join the team with certain drills. So, hopefully that continues and continues to grow and [he’s] working to a point of a return."
For Landeskog, who is committed to playing again, it is a positive indication.
The 32-year-old had cartilage transplant surgery in May 2023 after battling a persistent knee issue that prevented him from playing in an NHL game for nearly three seasons.

While there is still no finite timetable for his return, Landeskog remains committed to return to play no matter the circumstances.
Over his 11 NHL seasons, Landeskog scored 248 goals and 571 points for the Avalanche, helping the team to the post-season six times.
