Battle of Alberta's Rising Stars: Flames and Oilers Prospects Set for September Showdown

The next generation of the historic Battle of Alberta rivalry will take center stage as the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers prospects prepare for their upcoming exhibition series. This prospect showcase represents a departure from traditional development camps, offering fans an early glimpse of future NHL talent.

The two-game series kicks off in Edmonton on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 PM MT at Rogers Place, followed by a return match in Calgary on Sunday, September 14 at 4:00 PM MT. This marks the first opportunity for fans to evaluate young talent before the 2025-26 pre-season begins.

Calgary's roster showcases their recent draft success, headlined by 2024 ninth overall selection Zayne Parekh, alongside promising forwards Andrew Basha and Matvei Gridin. Sam Honzek, the organization's 2023 first-round pick, will also feature prominently. Additional prospects to watch include Jacob Battaglia, though the team's NCAA players won't participate in the series.
