As NHL Training Camps begin in a couple of weeks, there are some players who are on the free agent market looking for contracts. One player who has been connected to the Toronto Maple Leafs is forward Jack Roslovic.
Hockey Insider Frank Seravalli says that the Toronto Maple Leafs remain in contention for the 28-year-old forward.
Can Roslovic help the Maple Leafs needs?
Roslovic spent the 2024–25 season with the Carolina Hurricanes, where he put up 22 goals and 17 assists for 39 points in 81 games. With the departure of Mitch Marner this offseason, Toronto is looking to fill a void in the right-wing position. Although Roslovic won’t put up Marner-like numbers, he and other wingers, such as newly acquired Leaf forwards Matias Maccelli and Dakota Joshua, can be placeholders there until the trade deadline if the Leafs do go out and acquire a winger.
If Roslovic does intend to sign with Toronto, he can be a helpful presence for the Leafs, providing scoring depth — something that Toronto has had trouble with in recent seasons.
Roslovic has spent nine seasons in the NHL with the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Carolina Hurricanes. The Columbus, Ohio, native had a career-best season in 2022–23, where he put up 11 goals and 33 assists for 44 points in 77 games.Â
