Rangers and Ducks are in advanced discussions over the Kreider trade.

The New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks are in advanced talks about a deal that would send veteran forward Chris Kreider to Anaheim, according to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli.

The trade isn't done but framework is in place, Seravalli notes.

Chris Kreider might not have lit up the stat sheet this year, but his legacy in New York Rangers history is already cemented.

The veteran winger wrapped up a quieter 2024-25 campaign with 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points. Injuries—including lower-back issues and a lingering hand problem—hampered his production and limited his ice time.

Still, Kreider remained a key piece on the power play, chipping in six goals with the man advantage and adding six game-winners. Despite the dip in numbers, the 33-year-old remains one of the most clutch scorers in franchise history.

Last season, Kreider became just the third Ranger to hit the 300-goal mark and remains the club’s all-time leader in playoff goals. He’s also one of the top American-born power-play scorers in NHL history thanks to his dominant 2021-22 season, where he notched 52 goals and 26 on the power play alone.

With over 800 games and 100 playoff appearances under his belt, Kreider’s future in New York is unclear—but his impact on the Rangers isn’t.
