Trade among Penguins Michael Bunting, Luke Schenn and Tommy Novak invlolved

Elliotte Friedman reports that the Pittsburgh Penguins are trading forward Michael Bunting to the Nashville Predators in exchange for center Tommy Novak and defenseman Luke Schenn. Given their positions in the rankings, it's unclear why either team would be making a hockey trade or purchase. It might serve as a model for other deals.

Believe Luke Schenn and Tommy Novak part of return

Despite being a talented winger, Bunting hasn't stayed with many of the teams he has played for. Schenn, a seasoned defenseman renowned for his tough style and defensive dependability, joins the Penguins to strengthen their lineup. Although there was speculation that he would be traded, it was thought that it would be to a team attempting to acquire his brother Brayden. Novak is an offensive player and a playmaking center.

Vinny Desharnais, a defenseman, was traded to the San Jose Sharks by the Penguins only moments ago in return for a 2028 5th Round Pick.
It will be interesting to observe if other trade dominoes fall as the trade deadline draws near.
If not, Pittsburgh switches up its blue line and Nashville bolsters its forward core.
