Restricted free agent Seider finished the previous season with nine goals and 33 assists for 42 points in 82 games. His shooting percentage of 6.7%, which came from nine goals on 135 shots, was a career high.
He will be covered by his new contract until the 2030–31 season, at which point, at age 30, he will become an unrestricted free agent.
After the 2021–22 season, the product of Zell, Germany, took home the Calder Trophy as the NHL's best rookie. His 50 points in 82 games matched him for 20th place among NHL defensemen and placed him fourth among rookies in scoring.
In the 2019 NHL Draft, Seider was chosen ninth overall by the Red Wings.
