All eyes on Travis Green for Senators’ vacant head coaching gig
It seems like the Ottawa Senators are narrowing down their options for the head coaching post they currently have open.
"All eyes on Travis Green here," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said Monday on The Jeff Marek Show. "I want to be careful about this. Nothing is done until it's done, but I'm hearing all eyes on Travis Green. We'll see what the next few days brings."
Green most recently served as the New Jersey Devils' temporary head coach after taking Lindy Ruff's place on March 4. From 2017 to 22, he was the Vancouver Canucks' head coach as well.
Final details are still being worked on. Indications are Travis Green will be the next head coach of the Ottawa Senators.

On Monday's edition of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast, Friedman offered additional context for the Senators' coaching hunt by revealing that Craig Berube, the former head coach of the Blues, was no longer a candidate.
"I mentioned on Friday that he was considered high on Ottawa and New Jersey's list," Friedman said on the podcast. "I had some people tell me they don't think it's gonna be Ottawa. Now, again, I'm not saying it means it's gonna be definitely Jersey, cause I think Toronto may weigh in on this, but I had a few people tell me don't hitch your wagon to Berube and the Senators."
The Senators fired D.J. Smith on December 18 and proceeded to conclude the season with interim coach Jacques Martin. After being sacked by the Blues on December 12, Berube—who won the Stanley Cup in St. Louis in 2019—has been unemployed for roughly the same length of time.
