Jaromir Jagr announced his retirement from hocke

Jaromir Jagr, who has been in the hockey spotlight and the world for well over 30 years, has had an amazing journey. Following an amazing NHL career and a protracted stint in the Czech Republic as the team's owner and player, the 52-year-old great has declared his retirement from the sport he loves.

After mending his differences with the Pittsburgh Penguins franchise, Jagr returned to the NHL this past season, and the team retired his number and gave the former Penguins hero a fantastic sendoff.

It was announced during an interview with CNN Prima news that there will be a film to capture his final season with Klando which will be his send off for his hockey career.

We have a plan with filmmaker Peter Vetrovsky to film my last season. So I will try to physically prepare for it as best as possible. But I would really like to prepare professionally for my last season."

In 1990, the Penguins selected Jagr fifth overall in the first round of the draft. During the course of his 1733-game career, which lasted from 1990 to 2018, he scored 766 goals, received 1155 assists for a total of 1921 points, and was a plus 322.

Whether this is true or not is still out in the air, but at 52 years old, it seems likely that his time to play the game and turn the page on his life has come to an end.
